ചങ്ങനാശേരി : ചങ്ങനാശേരി അതിരൂപതയിലെ വൈദികന്‍ പുളിങ്കുന്ന് വലിയവീട്ടില്‍ ഫാ. ജോര്‍ജ് അന്തരിച്ചു. സംസ്കാരം ജൂലൈ 12 വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 10.30 ന് പുളിങ്കുന്ന് സെന്റ് മേരീസ് ഫൊറോനാ പള്ളിയില്‍ ചങ്ങനാശേരി അതിരൂപത മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത മാര്‍ ജോസഫ് പെരുംതോട്ടത്തിന്റെ മുഖ്യകാര്‍മ്മികത്വത്തില്‍.
ജീവകാരു ണ്യപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളിലൂടെ
ശ്രദ്ധേയനായ ഫാ.ജോര്‍ജ് വലിയവീട്ടില്‍ 1969 ലാണ് പൗരോഹിത്യം സ്വീകരിച്ചത്. തുടര്‍ന്ന് കുറുമ്പനാടം സെന്റ് ആ ന്‍റണീസ് പള്ളിയില്‍ സഹവികാരിയായി.
തുരുത്തി, തത്തംപ ള്ളി, പൂവം, ആര്‍പ്പൂക്കര, കൈനകരി തുടങ്ങിയ പള്ളികളിലും സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഓസ്ട്രിയ, ജര്‍മനി, സ്വിറ്റ്സര്‍ലന്‍ഡ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാ യി 35 വര്‍ഷം സേവനം ചെയ്തു. കഴിഞ്ഞ 11 വര്‍ഷമായി എറണാകുളത്തു വിശ്രമജീവിതം നയിച്ചുവരികയായിരുന്നു.
ഭൂചലനമുണ്ടായ ലത്തൂരിലും, എറണാകുളം ~ അങ്കമാലി അതിരൂപത, ജന്മമനാടായ പുളിങ്കുന്ന് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിര്‍ധന കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വീടുനിര്‍മാണത്തിനു സഹായം നല്‍കി. നിരവധി പേര്‍ക്കു ചികിത്സാ സഹായങ്ങളും നല്‍കിയിരുന്നു.
